Women’s football round-up: Palace claim impressive win at Blackburn and Charlton come from behind to score late equaliser
Crystal Palace claimed a 4-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Sunday.
Rovers topped the FA Women’s Championship going into the contest but goals from Shanade Hopcroft, Polly Doran, Annabel Blanchard and Molly-Mae Sharpe moved the South Londoners up to fourth in the table.
Laura Kaminski’s side remain unbeaten this season and are just a point behind new leaders Southampton and have a game in hand.
Kayleigh Green converted a 100th-minute penalty to salvage a point for Charlton Athletic in their 1-1 draw at home to Durham on Sunday. The hosts extended their unbeaten record to three matches and are three points behind the Saints
“I was pleased with the way we finished the game,” Hills told CharltonTV.

“It was quite a close game – we were both sussing each other out and making it difficult.
“Overall it was one of those games where you look at it and go: ‘Was it two points dropped? Or was it a good point?’
“If you look at the end, it’s probably a good point for us to keep that unbeaten run going. What I was really pleased about was the reaction and the intensity that we continued to believe that we were going to get something at the end of the game.
“I was really pleased to get that equaliser in injury time, however, we could have actually nicked it at the end.
“It’s a fair point.”
AFC Wimbledon claimed a comprehensive 8-1 win over Cambridge City on Sunday.
The Dons moved into the top four – five points off league leaders Norwich City. Emma Plewa and Ashlee Hincks grabbed braces with Ellie Dorey, Emily Donovan, Ashleigh Goddard and Sandra Soares Martins also on target.
Millwall Lionesses recorded an 8-0 victory over Aylesford.
Chloe Burr, Shannan Drew, Ella Bailey, Grace Seely and braces from Emma Whitter and Liv McGregor seeing the Lions collect all three points.
Co-caretaker managers Adam Rowland and Alex Russell have overseen 19 goals from their two games in charge since Keith Boanas stepped down.
