Yet another injury sickener for Crystal Palace as talisman Wilfried Zaha ruled out with knee injury

Crystal Palace have yet to comment on reports that Wilfried Zaha is facing another spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.

The Ivory Coast international picked up the problem in Sunday’s 1-1 home draw with Newcastle United but stayed on for the full duration of the Premier League fixture.

It has been claimed that Zaha will go for a scan and could be facing up to eight weeks out.

It will be a major blow to Palace’s hopes of winning their battle to stay up – especially considering their paucity of options in the wide areas.

Bakary Sako, who had been their most in-form attacker in recent weeks, has already seen his season ended due to a fractured ankle. Sullay Kaikai, another wide option, has been loaned to Charlton Athletic for the remainder of the campaign.

Zaha also suffered a knee injury on the opening day of the season against Huddersfield and Palace failed to score a goal or claim a point until he was back.

The Eagles are decimated by injuries with Martin Kelly (hamstring), Julian Speroni (knee), Jeffrey Schlupp (knee), Jason Puncheon (knee), Scott Dann (knee), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (ankle) and Connor Wickham (knee) all ruled out.
