‘You can think about that’ – Huddersfield interim boss quizzed on potential play-off dress rehearsal at Charlton Athletic

Interim Huddersfield head coach Jon Worthington dismissed talk of tomorrow’s League One promotion clash at Charlton Athletic as a dress rehearsal for the play-offs.

The Addicks are fourth and five points clear of Huddersfield in sixth.

Charlton’s automatic promotion hopes were dented last time out as they suffered a 3-0 defeat at Peterborough.

Huddersfield thrashed Crawley Town 5-1 in Worthington’s first game in charge after Michael Duff was sacked.

“I have nothing but respect for Charlton with the form and run they have been on,” said Worthington.

“They have got some good players but my focus will be around us and how we can impact that game.”

When asked if it was a dress rehearsal for a potential play-off clash at the end of the season, Worthington said: “You can think about that.

“The sole focus is just on this game and then we’re on to the next one. We’re not getting carried away, just focusing on getting the result we want.”
