‘You have to ask them’ – Patrick Vieira responds to question over his Crystal Palace future
Patrick Vieira says that any questions over his future needed to be directed to the Crystal Palace board after the 1-0 defeat at Brighton on Wednesday evening.
The hosts took the lead in the 15th minute through Solly March and saw out the game to record their first win against the South Londoners since 2018.
Palace are three points above the bottom three, without a win in 2023 and have only won one of their previous 16 outings in all competitions.
“You will have to ask that question to them,” said the Palace boss about whether he was confident about having the backing of the hierarchy.
“I can’t answer that one.
“I never questioned the relationship or the confidence that I can have with the players or what the players have for me.
“The way that we have been playing lately shows that we are together. I don’t have any worry about the players and myself.
“The fans have always been good – there’s never been any kind of misunderstanding between fans and players or fans and the club.
“They will be disappointed, frustrated, and upset like myself and the players because we don’t want to lose, especially a derby game. I fully understand the frustration.”
