Zaha unlikely to quit

Wilfried Zaha’s attempts to quit Crystal Palace have seen him appoint Pini Zahavi as his new agent, writes Richard Cawley.

But the prospects of the 27-year-old leaving the Eagles during the January transfer window seem slim.

Zaha’s wages are in the region of £125,000 a week and when you factor in a transfer fee in the region of £80million, it is the kind of exorbitant deal which only leaves elite European clubs as potential takers.

The Ivory Coast international has split from long-time representative Will Salthouse.

Zaha had wanted to leave Palace in the summer but a move failed to materialise despite interest from Arsenal and Everton.

He wants to join a club who he feels is better suited to challenging for major honours but the fact he is on a long-term contract – along with his sky-high wages – do not make it simple. Israeli Zahavi is described as a super-agent and has a stellar list of past and current clients.

Zaha has already been linked with German giants Bayern Munich since the start of this week. It has been claimed that Zahavi brokered Jose Mourinho’s move to Tottenham.

They have also been mooted as a potential contender for Zaha – but even if they are admirers it is hard to see them reaching the levels required to give Palace a decision to make.
