Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in a stabbing in Woolwich.

Police were called at midnight going into Sunday morning after reports of a stabbing in Mayplace Lane.

Officers attended, along with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

A 19-year-old man was found with stab injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition. His family have been informed.

Two boys, both aged 15, were arrested nearby on suspicion of attempted murder. They were later bailed, pending further enquiries.
