Through the noise launches its summer residency
London’s summer months are all about the outdoor festival season.
Jumping into the scene, Hackney-based promoter Through the noise has just launched its noisenights summer residency: a series of classical music concerts in The Speakeasy, a beer garden in Dalston Lane, Dalston that will run until September 10.
Five festival-style gigs will feature cross-genre artists performing music inspired by global classical music, ranging from Western European to Argentinian and West African.
Gigs include Tango Siempre, the Strictly Come Dancing tango band performing a set of authentic Tango and Argentine classical music, Braimah Kanneh-Mason joined by classical guitarist Plínio Fernandes and an exclusive live set fusing classical violin and jazz bass with the sounds of Manchester’s electronic music scene.
Having run over 30 classical concerts in clubs and gig venues around the country over the last two years, this summer series of noisenights will be their first string of outdoor concerts.
Through the noise co-founder and artistic director Jack Bazalgette said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing extraordinary musicians from around the world to Dalston for a series of outdoor concerts, starting this Thursday.
“It’s a privilege to see artists of this calibre up close, especially when each concert is crowdfunded and hosted in a fantastic family-run independent venue like The Speakeasy.”
