Wilf Zaha and Stormzy agree deal to acquire AFC Croydon Athletic
Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha and rapper Stormzy are part of a three-man consortium who are set to take control of AFC Croydon Athletic.
The third member of the group is Danny Young, who had been the kit manager at Crystal Palace before stepping down at the end of the season.
AFC Croydon announced this morning that contracts had been exchanged with the existing ownership to “acquire the assets of the club”.
They added: “The consortium will own, operate and develop their childhood hometown football club.

“Whilst completion is subject to legislative and governance procedures, the three consortium members are excited about developing a community asset in the borough that gave them their own opportunities. They hope to take the entire community on this exciting journey with them.
“There will be more updates to come from the consortium in due course on completion of the transaction. In the meantime there will be no further comment.”
Stormzy, 29, was born in Croydon and has won a host of awards.
He donated £500,000 – via his Merky Foundation – to fund educational scholarships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds in 2020.
AFC Croydon Athletic, nicknamed the Rams, are in the Combined Counties League Premier Division South.
It was founded in 2012 after Croydon Athletic withdrew from the Isthmian League in the 2011-12 campaign and then later folded.
They finished 15th in the 20-club division last season.
