Wimbledon striker set to rejoin Dundee on loan
AFC Wimbledon forward Zach Robinson is set to rejoin Dundee on loan for the rest of the season, the South London Press understands.
Our paper also believes Wimbledon will be signing a replacement for Robinson to bolster Johnnie Jackson’s attacking options.
Robinson joined Gary Bowyer’s side at the start of the season, scoring eight goals and recording two assists in 20 appearances in all competitions for the Dark Blues.
The 20-year-old was recalled by the Dons at the start of January from Dens Park after Kyle Hudlin had his loan spell cut short by Huddersfield Town.
Johnnie Jackson was also without Ayoub Assal at the time, who has since been sold to Qatari side Al-Wakrah, and Nathan Young-Coombes was returning to full fitness from a knee injury.
The plan was for Robinson, who signed a new contract with the Dons in the summer, to spend the season with the Scottish side so he could play regular football.
Wimbledon academy graduate Robinson was brought on in the final minutes of the 0-0 draw with Crewe and was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win over Stockport County last weekend.
Dundee are third in the Championship table, two points off table-toppers Queen’s Park.
