Women’s football round-up: Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace both defeated in WSL Cup

Charlton Athletic and Crystal Palace both suffered defeats in the FA WSL Cup on Sunday.

The Addicks lost 2-0 at Lewes with Paula Howells and Ellie Hack scoring.

Palace, in the same Group D, were dismantled 4-0 at Bristol City. Abi Harrison’s first-half double was followed by goals from Chloe Mustaki and Emily Syme.

Both clubs are not back in action until Championship fixtures on October 16.

AFC Wimbledon’s WPL Division One home game against Wymondham Town was postponed. The Dons head to Cambridge City this Sunday.

They have been drawn away to QPR in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup. The tie is set to take place on October 23.

Millwall Lionesses will face Long Crendon Ladies after hammering Bromley 9-0 to secure their passage last weekend. Angel Reid and Otesha Charles both walked away with hat-tricks with Milly Penfold and Gemma Bryan also on the scoresheet.

Millwall are away to AFC Acorns on Sunday.
