A couple who bonded over their mutual love of gadgets were married amidst one of the greatest achievements of Victorian engineering.

John Paul and Antonio got hitched in front of a total of 45 close friends and family inside Tower Bridge, after submitting the winning entry to a competition to say why they deserved the wedding of a lifetime.

John Paul told the touching story of how it was “love at first sight” and that their mutual love of engineering led them to move to London to be together, to live among the famous engineering feats of the city.

That won the couple a competition to win a wedding, plus photo-shoot and champagne and canapé reception at the Grade I listed tourist attraction, through on-site venue management and events team Seasoned.

John Paul said:  “Antonio, myself, our family and friends would like to say a big thank you to the Seasoned team and everyone involved, for making our special day a wonderful occasion. The whole day was perfect from beginning to end.

“This is a day we’ll never forget and the both of us still can’t believe that we were chosen over all of the other lovely couples.

“It’s an amazing feeling to win and marry in a venue that we both have such an affinity towards.”

They opted to stage the ceremoney in Tower Bridge’s North Tower Lounge, featuring floor to ceiling windows and picturesque views over London, with Seasoned supplying a complimentary £10,000 package, including catering and venue hire, styling and furniture from The Event Hire Company, wedding photography from Gomes Photography, decoration and flowers from Amie Bone Flowers, a live harpist from entertainment specialist Sternberg Clarke and linen from Just 4 Linen.

Aileen Duffy, event manager for Seasoned at Tower Bridge, said: “It was an honour to host John Paul, Antonio and their family and friends at Tower Bridge. After nearly half a year of planning we finally reached the big day and it couldn’t have gone any better.

“Witnessing the heart-warming ceremony was incredibly moving and was made even better knowing that Seasoned and our suppliers could help bring this lovely couple together for a wedding day they’ve always dreamt of. We wish both Antonio and John Paul a long and happy relationship together.”
