Fulham defender thanks medical team for helping him make swift recovery

Joachim Andersen has thanked Fulham’s medical team for helping him recover quickly from ankle ligament damage.

The 24-year-old Danish centre-back made his debut in Monday’s 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion.

Andersen suffered the injury in one of his first training sessions with the Whites after signing on loan from Lyon.

“I’m really happy to be back from my injury so quick,” he said. “I want to say a big thanks to the staff and medical team for taking good care of me.”

Andersen slotted in alongside Tosin Adarabioyo – another late capture in the last transfer window from Manchester City.

“We also played a friendly game against Wycombe – we had a good partnership and we understand each other,” said Andersen, pictured right. “It’s important we have communication and we help each other. I’m sure we’re going to do great.”

Fulham head to West Ham United tomorrow. Their last league victory at the Hammers was in November 2001 – Sylvain Legwinski and Steed Malbranque on target at Upton Park.

“We played a great game [against West Brom],” said Andersen. “In other games we didn’t do too bad – we just missed that last little touch that we had on Monday. We must continue to do that.”
