Dulwich College invites residents to its live virtual Remembrance Service

Residents are invited to an eight minute, live-streamed Service of Remembrance from Dulwich College on Wednesday 11 November at 11.56am.

This year’s Service of Remembrance will comprise just a small representation of staff and boys based at the War Memorial (usually all pupils and staff of around 2,400 gather together) and the act of remembrance will be streamed live through our intranet to classrooms and offices.

The service starts at promptly at 10.56am – though there will be a delay of 20 seconds when watching the Act of Remembrance.

As a sign of respect and in line with tradition, we will be inviting pupils and staff to stand at the sounding of the first bugle call – the Last Post – and remain standing after the two minutes silence until the end of the Reveille. During the two minutes of silence we will remember in particular the 865 Old Alleynians (alumni of Dulwich College) and five teaching staff who gave their lives in the service of their country.

Members of the wider community are invited, including readers of South London Press to join in watching the live streaming of the service from the College website: https://www.dulwich.org.uk/about/whats-on/act-of-remembrance-2020

The college will also post a film of the service on the same page of the website later during the day.
