Album plays tribute to heroes of the pandemic

A Brixton-based singer-songwriter has released a folk EP which he wrote and recorded by himself during the first lockdown.

Josiah Mortimer’s four-track release called This Town pays tribute to the heroes of the pandemic – including members of his own family

The 27-year-old said: “When scribbling down these songs in the first lockdown, I never thought I’d be releasing them in another lockdown nearly a year on.

“But I hope that makes them more relevant. It’s been a really welcome distraction – my way of processing everything that’s going on.”

Josiah played all of the different instruments himself, which included both acoustic and electric guitar, banjo and bass, as well as providing vocals

The EP is free to download but Josiah is encouraging listeners to donate to charity FareShare, which is working to end hunger and food waste.
