15 metre tree left on the roof of charity tenants for over a week after ownership dispute

Tenants of a housing charity were left “disappointed and disheartened” after a tree that fell on one of their properties in Plumstead took over a week to be removed. The tree fell on the roof of a house in Clothworkers Road in the morning of May 29, but was not fully removed by the housing association, Hyde Homes, until June 9th.

A report published by an independent panel into the death of murdered private detective Daniel Morgan has accused the Metropolitan Police of “a form of institutional corruption.” In a statement issued with the report, issued by Baroness Nuala O’Loan, the panel concluded that the Met’s first objective was to “protect itself”.

Battersea fashion student hands out care packages to NHS staff to thank them for hard work

A fashion design student from Battersea has launched a project to deliver care packages to NHS staff to give appreciation for their hard work during the pandemic. Chimna Orji, 22, was inspired to act after hearing her mum and sister, who both work for the NHS, say they didn’t have time or the resources to practice self care.
