Man stabbed during suspected robbery on Balham High Road

A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital last night after being stabbed during a suspected robbery.

Police were called to Balham High Road at 11:30pm last night.

They found a man who had been stabbed and administered first aid.

An ambulance was called and the man was taken to a hospital in South London.

Police said his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

A statement from the Met Police said: “Police were called at 23:34hrs on Tuesday, 24 August to reports of a suspected robbery on Balham High Road, SW12.

“Officers attended and found a man suffering from a stab injury. They immediately provided first aid.

“The 27-year-old man was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital; his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“A crime scene remains in place and the road is partially closed to traffic.

“There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference Cad 8134/24Aug.”
