Wandsworth man and woman appear in court over death of 15-month-old baby

A man and a woman have appeared at the Old Bailey following the death of a 15-month-old child in Wandsworth two years ago.

In the morning of August 27, 2019 paramedics and police responded to reports of a child in cardiac arrest in a home in Putney.

The boy was taken to a west London hospital and pronounced dead at around 7:30am.

He was later identified as Jacob Lennon.

A post-mortem examination carried out at Great Ormond Street Hospital on August 19, 2019 gave his cause of death as a head injury.

A man and a woman who were arrested on suspicion of murder were released on bail.

On Thursday, December 2, Jake Drummond, 31, of no fixed address, was charged with murder and Section 18 wounding with intent. Yesterday at the Old Bailey he was remanded in custody.

Louise Jane Lennon, 31, of Ingrave Street, Battersea, was charged on the same day with neglect of a child and causing/allowing the death of a child. Yesterday, she was bailed to appear at the Old Bailey on February 22. Drummond will next appear at the same hearing.
