Millwall players set to be rotated for Colchester United friendly

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Neil Harris is set to rotate his Millwall side for Tuesday’s friendly at Colchester United.

The Lions were 2-0 winners at Cambridge United on Saturday but the likes of Byron Webster and George Saville were unused substitutes.

Loan signing Ben Amos trained this morning but was in the crowd at The Abbey Stadium.

Club captain Steve Morison, pictured above with Jake Cooper, only came on for the closing stages.

Harris said: “I wouldn’t go as far as committing that everyone who didn’t start today will start at Colchester – because that won’t be the case.

“But the majority who didn’t start today will start on Tuesday.

“We’re still in the realms of making sure everyone gets the desired minutes and then we’ve got a chance to fine tweak that on Saturday against Bochum for Jimmy Abdou’s game. And also Monday at Welling, if need be.

“This is still very much a pre-season exercise for us today, so rustiness in some of the play – no problem.”
