Man who fell from scaffolding rescued by firefighters
Firefighters rescued a worker who had fallen from scaffolding at a building.
The man had fallen from scaffolding at a terraced house in Lainson Street, Putney, on to a platform at roof level.
The fire crews used a 32m ladder to bring him to safety and he was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews and taken to hospital.
The London Fire Brigade was called at 1pm on June 9 and the incident was over an hour later.
Station Commander Mark Nunan, who was at the scene, said: “Crews used one of our ladders to rescue the worker who had fallen from to a scaffolding platform at roof level.
“The area was very tight for space due to trees, vehicles and phone line cables.
“We managed to get some vehicles moved and due to the versatility of the ladder and the experience of the crews they were able to get the ladder into position to bring the man safely to the ground.
“He was then given treatment by our colleagues from London Ambulance Service and taken to hospital.”
