Accrington have injury concerns for Charlton Athletic visit

Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman has injury worries heading into Saturday’s home game against Charlton.

Former Palace centre-back Jay Rich-Baghuelou, Michael Nottingham and Ryan Astley were not involved in last weekend’s 2-1 friendly win over Sunderland.

“They are going down like flies,” said Coleman. “We rested Jay, as a precaution.

“Ryan will be touch and go for the weekend and one or two other players we are bringing in are also touch and go. That is a concern.”

Coleman was not happy with a half-hour spell in the first period against the Black Cats.

“Our keeper Lukas [Jensen] made some unbelievable saves,” said the long-serving Accrington boss.

“They ran all over us and couldn’t get the ball of them for long periods. You won’t [normally] have the luck we had in front of goal.”
