Charlton Athletic get some positive injury news – as winger should be back available very soon
Corey Blackett-Taylor is set to make a swift return to the first-team fold with the Charlton winger not suffering a serious injury in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Cambridge United.
The substitute had to be replaced in the closing stages at The Valley and went for a scan on his knee on Monday.
“It is really good news on Corey,” said Addicks manager Ben Garner, speaking after tonight’s 1-0 EFL Cup win at Walsall. “His scan just showing bruising and no structural damage. He won’t be out long.
“It’s literally just a case of letting the swelling go down. We’re talking days, weeks….it’s not a long one at all.”
Charles Clayden was not part of the travelling party for the fixture against the Saddlers.
“He was just rested,” said Garner. “He’s done great for us but also played 90 minutes on the Tuesday and Saturday in the league for the first time. He stayed back and had a little recovery session.”
