Millwall centre-back likely to be back for Blackburn Rovers as boss supplies injury update

Millwall defender Shaun Hutchinson is the most likely of the club’s injured players to be back available for their next Championship match.

The centre-back has been out with a groin tear since the 2-0 win over Cardiff City at the start of this month.

The Lions are also without Mason Bennett (hamstring) and Ryan Leonard (hamstring).

Millwall head to Blackburn on October 1 as their league campaign resumes after the international break.

“Hutchy will have a good chance,” said Rowett. “He’s probably the closest. Benno is not far behind. I don’t think he’ll be far off it with a game or two after the international break.

“Lenny is probably the one who is difficult to give a timescale on. I think he’s going to get re-scanned, so if we get good results then maybe we can start to accelerate his progress. But, it not, he might be one that might be a little bit behind that.

“Does the international break come at a good time? I don’t know. We won one of our last games and then we didn’t play against Sunderland – that little period just felt as though we lost a bit of momentum.

“If there is an international break you want to win the game before it and that’s probably all I’m thinking about at the minute.”
