Peckham Lidl to reopen its doors in weeks

Lidl has confirmed that its supermarket in Bellenden Road, Peckham, will reopen its doors on October 27 at 8am after undergoing a refurbishment.

The usual store opening times will be 7am-10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sunday.

As part of the works, the store has been completely refurbished to deliver an “enhanced in-store experience” for customers.

The supermarket said it will now have a larger sales area to provide more of the discounter’s affordable produce at a time when household budgets are facing increasing pressure.

Lidl’s regional head of property, Max Clapton, said: “We would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding whilst we have carried out these improvement works.

“We first opened our store in Peckham over 21 years ago and we are delighted to be able to open the store once again to deliver an enhanced shopping experience for our existing and future customers.”

The new supermarket forms part of the company’s £1.3bn investment across the country in 2021 and 2022.

Lidl is now the sixth largest supermarket chain in the UK.
