Six sought in connection with attempted hold-up at Plumstead post office

A public appeal has been launched to identify six men following an attempted armed robbery in Plumstead.

On Saturday, September 10, the six men entered a post office in Plumstead High Street at around 5.20pm. They asked the shop keeper for alcohol, but he refused to sell it to them.

One of the suspects then produced a handgun and threatened the shop keeper.

The group then left the post office and headed toward Plumstead Railway Station.

The main suspect, seen to be carrying the hand gun, is described as a white man, wearing a dark grey tracksuit, a black side-bag, a black beanie and black and white trainers. He is of a slim build.

The suspects are wanted on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and are aged about 16 to 18.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting 5398/10Sep. To remain anonymous contact the independent charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
