Dulwich Hamlet exit FA Trophy after defeat in Somerset

Dulwich Hamlet failed to progress in the FA Trophy as they lost 2-1 at Taunton Town yesterday.

The South Londoners are back at the Cygnet Health Care Stadium on Tuesday, but this time for a National League South fixture.

Dulwich took the lead in Somerset through Danny Mills. The striker met Joe Felix’s cross to put them ahead in the 30th minute.

A goal-line clearance byTaunton’s Zac Smith denied Nana Owusu in the 47th minute. And that intervention proved vital as Taunton levelled shortly afterwards, Nat Jarvis curling home.

The Peacocks went ahead almost instantly, Jay Foulston volleying in with 52 minutes on the clock.

Dulwich keeper Charlie Grainger made a big save at his far post to frustrate substitute Dave Sims-Burgess.

Hamlet’s George Porter had a big opportunity to make it 2-2 but could only send the ball over from Ashley Nzala’s delivery.
