Concerns grow for ‘vulnerable’ missing Beckenham woman

Police are still appealing for information about the whereabouts of a woman missing for three weeks.

Leila Gaind, 69, from Beckenham, was last seen on Saturday, November 26 and has not contacted family since.

There is no information to suggest that she has come to harm at the hands of anyone else, however she is considered vulnerable.

Leila was captured on CCTV carrying a black tote bag and a black handbag in Beckenham Lane at around 8am walking in the direction of Bromley Magistrates’ Court, at the junction with London Road.

Leila is approximately 5ft 7ins tall and was last seen wearing black trousers, a black coat with a black fur hood and black shoes. She has shoulder length brown/grey hair .

Her family and officers are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare, particularly given the recent cold weather.

Leila’s family have appealed to her directly, saying: “Please contact us, we are worried and want you home for Christmas. We need to know you are safe.”

Detective Inspector Mark Hine, from the Bromley, Croydon and Sutton Missing Persons Unit, said: “We are increasingly concerned for Leila’s welfare, as is her family. She has not been heard from in almost three weeks nor have there been any sightings of her.

“There is no evidence to suggest there is any third party involvement, however we still need the public to get in touch with any information about her whereabouts to bring Leila home safely to her family.”

If anyone has seen Leila or has any information about her whereabouts, call police on 101 or tweet @MetCC and give reference 22MIS042303.
