Camberwell man shot in head linked to another shooting in Peckham
The Met have confirmed that the man who was rushed to hospital yesterday after suffering a serious injury in Camberwell was shot in the head.
Police have also confirmed that another shooting that took place in Leontine Close, Peckham, shortly before the man was discovered, is linked.
Detectives are now appealing to the public for information and witnesses.
At around 5:40pm, police on patrol found a seriously injured 20-year-old man in Camberwell Church Street, near the junction with Grove Lane.
He was treated at the scene by London’s Air Ambulance before being taken to a South London hospital suffering gunshot wounds and head injuries.
The man remains in a critical condition and his family have been informed.
Reports this morning of a cordon set up in the area showed the takeaway shop Falafel and Shawarma in Camberwell Church Street with broken glass with a blue forensics tent directly outside.
A cordon has also been erected in Leontine Close. There are no reports of any other injured person and no arrests have been made.
