Three arrests made in shooting of 22-year-old Tyrese Miller

Three men have been arrested in connection to the killing of 22-year-old Tyrese Miller, who was shot in the chest earlier this month.

The three men aged 18, 20 and 19 were arrested on suspicion of murder today and remain in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley who is leading the investigation said: “These arrests demonstrate the progress our investigation is making as we work towards finding those who attacked and killed Tyrese and ensuring they face justice.

“I am still keen to hear from anyone who was in the Croydon Road area of Mitcham in the early hours of Tuesday April 4, to contact us, especially anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage.”

Police were called at around 2.30am on April 4 to reports of a man found injured in Croydon Road, near the junction with Beddington Lane in Mitcham.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, Tyrese died there a short time later.

A post-mortem examination conducted on April 5, found the cause of death to have been a gunshot wound to the chest.

Enquiries into the murder remain ongoing and police continue to appeal to the public for information.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 with reference CAD616/4Apr or to contact independent charity Crimestoppers completely anonymously.
