Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson up against Guardiola, Howe and O’Neil for Manager of the Month award

Roy Hodgson has been nominated for the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award for April.

The 75-year-old picked up four wins from six outings in the top flight last month, returning to the club for the rest of the season after Patrick Vieira was sacked in March.

Palace opened the month with a 2-1 win over relegation rivals at the time Leicester City, with Jean-Philippe Mateta’s late goal securing the South Londoner’s first three points of 2023.

The Eagles then thrashed Leeds United 5-1 at Elland Road to equal their joint-highest Premier League away win.

An Eberechi Eze brace then secured a 2-0 win at Southampton. The with at the Sinats was followed up by a goalless draw with Everton at Selhurst Park.

Palace then suffered defeat on the road at Wolves but bounced back to hit the 40-point mark thanks to a 4-3 win at home to West Ham.

Hodgson’s side scored 13 goals and picked up 13 points during the month of April.

Unai Emery, Pep Guardiola, Eddie Howe and Gary O’Neil have also been nominated.

The winner will be announced at 12:00 BST on Friday, 12th May.
