Image released of man following robbery of pensioner

Officers investigating the robbery of a pensioner have released an image of a man they wish to trace as part of their investigation.

The incident happened at around noon on April 11 as the victim, an 85-year-old man, boarded a route 194 bus at West Croydon bus station.

The pensioner felt a person behind him attempt to pickpocket him as he got on the bus.

The victim realised what was happening and turned to react, but the suspect pushed the man over and stole his wallet, before running away.

The elderly man was not hurt during the incident, but was left shaken.

Anyone who recognises the man in the image, or has information that could assist police, is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD2889/11Apr.

You can also provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
