Police searching for assaulted woman suffering from injuries

Police are searching for a woman who was assaulted early this morning and is suffering from injuries.

Police were called at around 3am to reports that a woman had been assaulted at a residential property in Chelsfield Lane, Orpington

Officers attended, along with the London Ambulance Service. However, the woman, thought to be aged in her 30s, had reportedly left the scene before she received medical attention.

She was last seen wearing a light-coloured dressing gown.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and was taken into custody at a South London police station.

An ongoing search is taking place in the area with support from a police helicopter. Checks have also been made with nearby hospitals.

A spokesman from the Met said: “We are appealing for the public’s help to trace the woman.

“We do not have a photo to share at this time.

“Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call 999 quoting CAD 795/12Jun.”
