Hollywood stars were spotted in Croydon on Tuesday night.

St George’s Walk in the town centre turned into a Polish high street complete with a nightclub and shops as it was transformed into a film set.

Idris Elba, John Cena and Priyanka Chopra were in Croydon for an overnight shoot for new Amazon film Heads of State.

Filming is also understood to have taken place at Overton’s Yard next to the Surrey Street Market car park while extras gathered at Fairfield Halls.

Businesses in St George’s Walk closed their doors at 7pm for the work to start and filming is believed to have gone on until the early hours of Wednesday morning (June 21).

For the filming, all the shop fronts were made to look like Polish shops. On the walls there was graffiti and polish posters.

On Wednesday morning St George’s Walk was a hive of activity as shops were returned to their normal state. Dozens of crew were on hand to return the film set back to normal.

Filming for Heads of State started in London in May 2023 after Amazon announced it had taken on the project in August 2020.

The other half of St George’s Walk, which has now been demolished, was used for an episode of Black Mirror back in 2018.

Retro shop fronts were fitted for the filming of Bandersnatch which came out at the end of 2018.
