Former Crystal Palace and Charlton winger on trial with Championship side
Former Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic winger Sullay Kaikai is on trial with Championship side Rotherham United.
The 27-year-old was relegated with Milton Keynes to League Two last season and has left the club this summer.
Southwark-born Kaikai came through Palace’s academy and made 11 appearances for the club, scoring his only goal in the 2-3 EFL Cup defeat to Newcastle in 2014.
Kaikai went on loan to Charlton in 2018, making 15 appearances during his time at The Valley.
He has also had spells at Blackpool, Wycombe, Brentford, Cambridge and Dutch side NCA Breda.
Kaikai has flown out to Spain with Rotherham, who finished 19th in the Championship last season, for their pre-season training camp.
“It’s a chance for him to work with us and impress,” Rotherham boss Matt Taylor said.
“We want more bodies in the wide areas and Sullay covers that, so it made sense for him to come out here.
“We know he’s a good player. He has a great opportunity ahead of him.”
