Former Charlton boss Lee Bowyer lands shock international job – linking up with former Addicks striker

Former Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer got off to a winning start as manager of the Monserrate national team after their 3-2 CONCACAF Nations League win over Barbados.

Ex-Charlton striker Lyle Taylor scored a brace as the Emerald Boys picked up their first three points in their League B Group B CONCACAF Nations League campaign.

Monserrate are currently ranked 179th in the FIFA World Rankings.

Bowyer had 157 matches in charge of the Addicks after replacing Karl Robinson as boss in March 2018.

He resigned in March 2021, winning 65 times as Charlton boss.

Bowyer left Charlton to manage Birmingham City and has been out of work since leaving St Andrew’s in July 2022.

Ex-Charlton director of recruiting Steve Gallen has also been pictured coaching the Monserrate squad with Bowyer.
