Woman hit by falling tree may be left with ‘life changing injuries’
A woman was taken to a major trauma centre this morning after a “large section of a tree” fell on her.
Another woman was treated at the scene of the fallen tree for “minor injuries” in Fulham Palace Road, Fulham, at around 9.30am.
The MP for Chelsea and Fulham Greg Hands took to X, formerly known as social media site Twitter, to express his “shock”.
“Am shocked at news of the accident on Fulham Palace Road, SW6, with a large section of a tree falling on pedestrians,” he said.
“One person is reportedly badly injured.
“I am being kept updated by @MPSHammFul, but my thoughts are with the victims and with the responders.”

The Met attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service (LAS) and the London Fire Brigade (LFB).
The Met confirmed that a woman, aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital where her injuries were assessed as not life-threatening, however may be life-changing.
An LAS spokesman said: “We were called at 8.57am today to reports of an incident on Fulham Palace Road.
“We sent multiple resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, a medic in a fast response car and members of our tactical response unit.
“We treated a patient at the scene for head, neck and back injuries before taking them to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
The LFB said it assisted the police in making the scene safe.
A spokesman for LFB said: “Two fire engines and one fire rescue unit were in attendance from Fulham, Wandsworth and Chelsea fire stations. The incident was over by 10.06am.”
