AD FEATURE: Panas Gurkha… Lending a helping hand to community
Panas Helping Hands was formed during the Covid-19 lockdowns, there to support the most vulnerable members of our South-east London community and the key workers working tirelessly to support them.
This including the sizeable ex-Gurkha population with the Greenwich Gurkha Ex-Servicemen Association (GGESA) United through brotherhood and a passion to help others, Panas Helping and GGESA have launched many ventures together.
Panas has fed hundreds of Gurkha Veterans and their families, in particular during important cultural events such as the Dashain Festival.
Using our local contacts, we also helped secure them a venue free of charge and plenty of Cobra Beer for them to enjoy!
We have also raised funds to send to Nepal, supporting the Nepalese Red Cross as well as clothing and feeding numerous Gurkha veterans and their families, often in the most remote parts of Nepal.
The money Sujan Katuwal raised from his 1,000 mile journey will go directly to supporting our Gurkha veterans and their families, ensuring they are well supported in the upcoming winter months.
We are proud to support those who have given so much for us.
1000 Mile Challenge: Walking 1000 miles in 100 days ending with the final 50 miles on October 10. Thank you to Sally White (actress) and Steve White (drummer) who will be at the restaurant to support our challenge.
