Woolwich-based U11 team boosted by sponsorship deal

McDonald’s franchisee Taimoor Sheikh who runs and operates seven restaurants in South London has sponsored the U11 youth team for Woolwich-based May & Baker FC.

The sponsorship has helped support the youth team by funding new kits.

Sheikh and his restaurants have been supporting grassroots football in the local community as part of McDonald’s Fun Football programme for many years. The local restaurants have donated football kits to the club alongside team hoodies.

Sheikh said: “Youth football is really important for our community which is why we support local teams through each restaurant, and I’m delighted to help support May & Baker U11s by providing the new kits. I look forward to seeing the team enjoy playing their upcoming fixtures.”

Now in its 22nd year, McDonald’s Fun Football programme provided more than10 million hours of free football opportunities to more than one million children by 2026.

McDonald’s Fun Football sessions will take place across the UK. To find a Fun Football session local to you this autumn visit www.mcdonalds.co.uk/funfootball. For further information on McDonald’s involvement in grassroots football follow @FunFootballUK on Twitter and Instagram.
