Charlton target set for West Ham switch to Sheffield Wednesday

Charlton target Conor Coventry looks set to join Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on a permanent deal from West Ham United, the South London Press understands.

Our paper reported last week that the Addicks were keen on a winter window move for the 23-year-old, but he now looks set to join the Owls.

Coventry’s deal with the Hammers runs out at the end of this season.

Sheffield Wednesday are 22nd in the Championship table and have won three of their last five outings in the competition.

Coventry had a successful loan spell with Milton Keynes in the 2021-22 season. He joined them in the January transfer window and made 22 appearances as they finished third in League One.

He also had a spell with Rotherham United in the second half of the last campaign.

Charlton signed midfielder Tyreeq Bakinson on loan from Wednesday last week.
