Make creativity your new year’s resolution at the Conservatoire
Are you thinking of taking up or re-connecting with an instrument?
Would you like to make art in one of London’s most beautiful Victorian art studios guided by accomplished and nurturing artists?
Are you searching for a drama class to find your voice and confidence and make new friends?
The Conservatoire is located in the heart of Blackheath village and provides the highest quality and welcoming tuition for all ages. All tutors are highly qualified working professionals offering the widest range of individual and group tuition in art, music and drama locally.
The extensive programme is designed to grow with learners as they gain skills and experience. Tuition takes place in the historic buildings, part of London’s oldest purpose-built arts complex, including a stunning Victorian art studio.
The Conservatoire was founded by residents nearly 150 years ago and has remained a cornerstone of the community; inspiring creativity ever since. Past alumni include Kate Bush, Gary Oldman and Daniel Day Lewis but you don’t need to be an Oscar winner to benefit!
There is something quite magical about being part of the community and participating in classes in the buildings! From offering encouragement to make art or play music; to meeting like-minded souls; hopefully you will be inspired and inspire others in turn.
In addition to providing the most extensive selection of individual tuition in South-east London, they are a creative leader through their group classes. The innovative Early Years Programme is backed by strong academic research on early child development and the acquisition of music, speech and motor skills; the unique Roundabout and Play! programmes introduce five–six-year-olds to six instruments over a year and then take them forward in small groups with their chosen instrument. Children and teens can progress through youth theatre, and extensive art and music courses, even having the opportunity to take GCSE and A-level art.
Adults can try their hands at a huge range of courses, ranging from life painting, printmaking and how to draw to drama, choirs and Baroque music.
