Ashlee Hincks hits a century as Dons kick off 2024 with emphatic win over QPR

Ashlee Hincks netted her 100th AFC Wimbledon goal as they kicked off 2024 with a 7-2 victory over QPR.

The first chance of the game fell to QPR, who sent a free-kick in towards their number nine, but it was no threat to Lauren Allen, who saved comfortably.

Hannah Billingham sent a teasing ball in towards Ashleigh Goddard, but she could only direct it wide of the post.

Another chance fell to Goddard who took it well, but her effort hit the side netting.

A rare chance fell to QPR around five minutes before the break, but the player’s effort sailed over the crossbar.

In the dying seconds of the first half, Emily Donovan got through on goal and gave the Dons the breakthrough they deserved.

A long searching ball from the defence was met by Ashlee Hincks’ feet early on in the second half and she buried her shot – the ball went over the keeper and nestled into the bottom corner as the Dons took a 0-2 lead.

The Dons started firing in the second half as Ashlee Hincks got her second of the game in spectacular style. An excellent ball was crossed from Hannah Billingham, and Ashlee made no mistake striking it into the top corner, as it was QPR Women 0-3 AFC Wimbledon Women.

Shortly after the third goal Lucy Porter was introduced in place of Steph Mann, and she got stuck straight into action!

Not long after, Rosie Russell got in on the scoring action as she latched onto a pass from Lucy Porter to make it four.

Another break in play saw the introduction of Sandra Soares Martins for Ellie Dorey.

Ashlee Hincks was the hat-trick hero as she scored her third of the game! The Dons scored three in five minutes, as the number nine added three goals to her season tally.

Kevin Foster made another change for his side, as Hannah Mackenzie came on in place of Billie Brooks.

QPR grabbed 2 consolation goals as they scored twice in quick succession, as the scoreline was QPR Women 2-5 AFC Wimbledon Women.

Almost 85 minutes were gone on the clock Rosie Russell was fouled in the box and won the Dons a penalty. Ashlee Hincks stepped up and slotted it home beautifully, to mark the astounding achievement of hitting 100 goals for the Dons.

The number nine just could not stop scoring. Ashlee Hincks got on the scoresheet for a fifth time just before the 90-minute mark, after an excellent goal that soared over everyone! A 9-goal thriller on the road.
