Non-league round-up: Former Crystal Palace and Leeds winger Hall scores after 2.31 seconds
Former Crystal Palace youngster Ryan Hall scored straight from kick-off in Croydon FC’s 3-0 London Senior Cup win over Cockfosters on Saturday.
The official timing of the goal going in was clocked at 2.31 seconds but Guinness World Records could not confirm that it was an official record for the fastest goal scored from kick-off.
“As the whistle went, I just thought ‘I’m going to go for it,” Hall, who also played for Leeds United, Southend and Bromley, told BBC Radio 5Live.
“No way did I actually think I would pull this off. When I saw it go over the keeper’s head, I thought ‘I have actually done this’.”
Bromley drew 2-2 with Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday evening.
Andy Woodman’s side took the lead through Besart Topalloj with Michael Cheek doubling the Ravens’ advantage in first-half added time.
But a goal from Sam Ling in the 70th minute and an equaliser from Josh Rees in the 95th minute denied Bromley all three points.
They stay second in the National League – 19 points behind runaway leaders Chesterfield.

Goals from Michael Ademiluyi, Sonny Black, Matthew Vigor and Lyle Della-Verde saw Steve McKimm’s side move a point above Ramsgate as they extended their undefeated league run to 26 matches.
