Royal seal of approval as Princess Anne visits South Bank Technical College

The Princess Royal visited London South Bank Technical College (LSBTC) yesterday to meet students, staff and industry partners of the college.

During her visit to the college, in Belmore Street, Nine Elms, Princess Anne had a look around the dental technology laboratory where she met students learning advanced dental skills.

In the green skills workshop the princess met LSBTC apprentices who had just become the first students in England to qualify for electric vehicle charging installation.

The £100million LSBTC teaches advanced technical skills to more than 2,000 students through courses including construction, robotics and healthcare.

Millie Doyle, a bricklaying standard apprentice, who met The Princess Royal, said: “It was brilliant to meet The Princess Royal as a female apprentice as the number of women in the bricklaying trade increases.”

To commemorate the visit, Princess Anne unveiled a new plaque on the college’s ground floor.
