‘Mass confrontation’ – AFC Wimbledon and MK charged by FA

AFC Wimbledon and Milton Keynes have both been charged by the FA following a “mass confrontation” between the two sides in Saturday’s League Two clash.

Johnnie Jackson’s side claimed all three points in a 1-0 win in the last minute following a strike from Ronan Curtis.

It was the first time Wimbledon had beaten Milton Keynes at Plough Lane since returning to SW19.

Milton Keynes won the reverse fixture 3-1 in January, with Huseyin Biler and Paul Kalambayi both being sent off in the second half.

An FA Spokesperson said: “AFC Wimbledon and Milton Keynes Dons have been charged following a mass confrontation at their EFL League Two game on Saturday 2 March.

“It’s alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players and technical area occupants don’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way after the final whistle. AFC Wimbledon and Milton Keynes Dons have until Friday 8 March to provide their respective responses.”
