Nathan Jones views Charlton-Wigan postponement as “a pain” and would have “juggled” absences

Nathan Jones has expressed his disappointed at Charlton’s home game against Wigan being postponed due to international call-ups.

The match had been due to take place on March 23.

A new date is set to be announced this afternoon.

Charlton, unbeaten in seven League One games, head to Fleetwood Town on Saturday but then do not resume action until their Good Friday trip to Exeter City.

“I see it as a pain because we’re in really good form,” said Jones. “I would have preferred to have found a way around it, in terms of juggling. We would have had people missing but I would’ve utilised the squad – because I think it’s important to keep a bit of momentum.

“Now we’ve got a two-week break and we don’t need it, not at this stage of the season – with five weeks of it left.

“What we need is continuity. So it is a bit strange, but it is what it is.”
