Brixton flat fire: Firefighters find body in living room

A person has died after a flat fire in Brixton on Saturday night, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said.

Firefighters were called to the blaze in Railton Road at around 11.30pm. Four fire engines and about 25 firefighters from Brixton, Clapham and West Norwood fire stations attended the scene.

Most of a two-roomed flat on the second floor of a residential block was damaged by fire. Firefighters found a body in the living room.

A spokesman for the LFB said: “The incident was over for firefighters by 12.30am.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
