‘Terrific’ – Crewe boss previews AFC Wimbledon clash

Crewe boss Lee Bell can see similarities between his side and Johnnie Jackson’s AFC Wimbledon outfit ahead of tomorrow’s League Two clash.

The Dons are seventh in the table head up to the Mornflake Stadium after suffering their first defeat – a 2-0 loss at home to Newport – after three striaght league wins.

The Railwaymen are fifth – seven points away from the South Londoners – and are looking to climb into the automatic promotion spots in the final few weeks of the season.

They suffered a 3-1 defeat against Milton Keynes last time out.

Jackson will be without Omar Bugiel for the game, with the centre forward away on international duty with Lebanon.

“They have been terrific this season,” said Bell.

“They have been in and around it throughout the season, similar to us.

“Energetic and aggressive team – they play some good football. Watching them, they’re a little bit like us.

“They can do everything – they have got all sides of the game.

“Missing their centre forward through international duty and lost their main forward [Ali Al-Hamadi] in January, but they’re a good team and we’re going to have to prepare really well for it.

“We have to make sure the mistakes that happened last weekend, don’t happen this weekend.”
