Player ratings from Crystal Palace’s 3-1 win at Wolves – Defender scores highly for vital interception as Olise, Eze and Mateta return attacking contributions

Crystal Palace are now six unbeaten in the Premier League after a 3-1 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Goals from Michael Olise, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eberechi Eze gave the Eagles all three points.

Here are Edmund Brack’s player ratings from Molineux:

DEAN HENDERSON – 7

Got his fingertips to Matt Dogerty’s header in the 42nd minute and tipped the header onto the bar.

Good save to deny Cunha in the 48th minute. The attacker poked an effort and Henderson and he used his feet to clear the danger.

Excellent tip over to deny a scissor kick from Mario Lemina.

Was praised by the Palace boss Oliver Glasner for his contributions in the win after the game.

DANIEL MUNOZ – 7

Outstanding performance bombing up and down the right-hand touchline.

Won three tackles, completed three clearances and was not dribbled past once.

Imperative to the way this team plays under Oliver Glasner.

NATHANIEL CLYNE – 8

Stood up Matheus Cunha well after the Brazilian attacker burst into the penalty area.

Maurauded forward to join in on the attack for Mateta’s goal and was unlucky not to score.

A vital stop at the back post to stop Wolves from equalising after they had brought the game back to 2-1.

Man of the Match for that challenge.

JOACHIM ANDERSEN – 7

Looked really settled in the role between Clyne and Chris Richards, mopping up when the ball gets past the two other centre-backs.

Won seven aerial battles and made eight clearances.

CHRIS RICHARDS – 6

Headed just over a great chance in the 40th minute from a corner.

Should have whacked the ball out of play for the move that saw Naouirou Ahamada sent off.

Had to fill in towards the end in the middle of the pitch.

TYRICK MITCHELL – 7

Played a handful of really dangerous crosses along the face of Wolves’ goal at the start of the second half.

Won four of his five tackles and made two blocks.

ADAM WHARTON – 7

Brilliant weight of pass to find Eze on the overlap in the 53rd minute.

Had to do a lot of running in the middle of the pitch once Hughes went off due to injury.

WILL HUGHES – NA

Forced off after 12 minutes following a coming together with Cunha in the middle of the pitch.

EBERECHI EZE – 7

Had Palace’s best chance in the early stages but chose the wrong place to shoot – dragging his effort wide of Dan Bentley’s goal.

Took his goal really well – rounding Bentley after latching onto a great ball from Olise.

MICHAEL OLISE – 8

Should have scored in the 23rd minute when Mateta linked up well with Munoz and crossed at the back post. Olise dragged his effort just wide.

Trademark finish moments later to put Palace ahead, cutting in on his left foot from the edge of the box and curling a stunning shot beyond Bentley.

Excellent work in the build-up to Mateta’s goal, taking two players out of the game with a delicate chip to Clyne.

Superb pass past Max Kilman to find Eze, who scored. Majestic for periods in the game.

JEAN-PHILIPPE MATETA – 8

Made a very clever run early on but Eze did not spot the Frenchman.

Did well to win back possession for Eze in the 16th minute, but the Greenwich-born attacker dragged his effort wide.

Linked up well with Munoz to create an effort for Olise, which he should have done better with.

He deserved a goal, and was in the right place to finish off the effort that Clyne smashed against the post.

SUBS:

NAOUIROU AHAMADA – 5

Took time to get into the game, but grew into moments and looked promising when on the ball.

Struggled positionally to adapt to the game.

Had to do better when he was allowed the freedom of Molineux to drive at the Wolves defence.

A naive and rash challenge to earn himself a second yellow card three minutes after getting his first.

ODSONNE EDOUARD – 6

Came on in the 69th minute and helped see out the game.

MARC GUEHI – 6

Building up his minutes ahead of the Euros.
