London Olympians beat depleted Norwich Devils

In a messy game by the Olympians won their second game of the season against the Norwich Devils depleted squad, with a final score of 41-6.

This encounter, part of the BAFA NL SFC 1 East division, saw the Norwich teams display remarkable determination. But the strength and depth of the Olympians’ squad along with great coaching allowed the Olympians to run away with a 6 Touch Down to one win over them. 

The star of the match was Jed Brennen with a hat-trick of touchdown catches. 

The match, undoubtedly an early warning of this season’s fixtures, will be remembered for its missed chances and the sheer willpower by both teams to keep battling until the final whistle.

The Norwich Devils, while not securing the win, demonstrated commendable performance and sportsmanship throughout the game, contributing to what was an exceptional showcase of American football talent in the UK.

The London Olympians travel a short distance to Westcombe Park Rugby Club, Orpington meet the Kent Exiles away this week on the 19th of May.

Head coach Murray Dumas said: On a very hot day that made everyone a bit sluggish, I felt we achieved all our aims, especially getting all our backups on the field. Norwich, with a large contingent of American players, made us work, and it was great to see the boys dig in and get the job done.”
