AFC Wimbledon pocket cash windfall after former midfielder makes Coventry City move

Coventry City have signed ex-AFC Wimbledon midfielder Jack Rudoni from relegated Huddersfield Town.

The South London Press understands the Sky Blues shelled out around ÂŁ5million to sign Rudoni from the Terriers.

Wimbledon will pocket 20 per cent of the profit that Huddersfield have made on the deal – a sell-on clause that was negotiated when Rudoni left Plough Lane in July 2022.

Rudoni has featured consistently in the Championship for Huddersfield, scoring five goals and recording three assists this year as they were relegated to League One.

The 23-year-old made 84 appearances in all competitions for Huddersfield.

“Jack is a talented player with great technical ability,” said Coventry boss Mark Robins.

“He is adept at getting the ball and driving teams forward and creating opportunities. He is a young player who we are sure will be popular with our supporters.”

Rudoni added: “The atmosphere at the Coventry Building Society Arena was one of the first things I thought of when I knew that I was coming here.

“I have played there a few times over the years and the atmosphere is always great. I can’t wait to get going. Even just being at the training ground has given me that buzz to play again.”
