Millwall confirm Japhet Tanganga signing – former Spurs defender joins permanently

Millwall have confirmed the signing of Japhet Tanganga on a permanent deal.

The Lions have been chasing the former Tottenham Hotspur defender since he left The Den at the end of his loan spell.

Tanganga made 18 appearances on loan at The Den in the second half of last season.

Millwall agreed a deal with Spurs in early May before he was released by the Premier League this summer.

The free agent has put pen to paper on a long-term contract in SE16.

Tanganga will be suspended for The Lions’ first three matches of the 2024/25 campaign due to a red card picked up on the final day of the 2023-24 season at Swansea City.

He will now join up with his team-mates for training ahead of Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Gillingham.

Tanganga is the second arrival at The Den this week, with striker Macaulay Langstaff also joining from Notts County.
